Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready-to-eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goods, and curated hard-to-find groceries.

We are looking for a Bakery Production Team Lead to oversee our Cookie Station, Bake-Off Station, and Bakery Production at our Bakery Production Kitchen

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
As a Bakery Production Team Lead, you will play a hands-on role in daily bakery operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and teamwork. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Overseeing production at the Cookie Station, Bake-Off Station, and Bakery Production to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Coordinating daily tasks such as mixing, scooping/scaling, baking, decorating/garnishing, and packaging to ensure efficient workflow across stations.
- Supporting the ordering and inventory control process, minimizing waste, and ensuring ingredient availability.
- Ensuring adherence to food safety and quality assurance standards.
- Assisting in training and coaching bakery team members to maintain consistency in production speed, food safety, and workplace safety.
- Maintaining a hands-on approach and actively working at bakery stations as needed.
- Collaborating with bakery leadership to implement process improvements, troubleshoot production challenges, and enhance efficiencies.
- Communicating menu changes, specials, and shortages with store and bakery retail teams.
- Monitoring equipment maintenance needs and ensuring the bakery production space is clean and organized.
- Upholding company policies, food safety regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Additional duties as required.

Skillset Requirements:

- Passion for food - you take pride in producing high-quality baked goods
- Team player with strong leadership skills to guide and support bakery staff.
- 2+ years of experience in bakery production or food manufacturing, preferably in a high-volume setting.
- Strong understanding of baking operations, food safety, and quality control.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot production issues, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multiple teams.
- Experience operating commercial baking equipment and maintaining food production standards.
- Tech-savvy; comfortable using MS Office and inventory/order management systems.
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
