**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible running three Canadian operating companies and one U.S. operating company as well as multiple ancillary companies working directly with the CEO and senior management
- Direct knowledge of the Canadian and US food marketplaces, including the farming regulatory landscape and North American supply chains
- Participate in formulating the company’s future direction and developing strategic initiatives and implementing tactical direction
- Create and set financial KPI targets for all divisions in the company and provide insight into financial and non-financial key performance indicators then implementing changes and adjustments.
- Contribute significant input into how the company manages its income and expenses
- Manage banking, insurance, and all other financial relationships, including arranging for debt and equity financing
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
- Capital expenditure analysis
- Cash flow projections, short term financing, risk management, bank related issues
- Format and complete budgets - manage cost tracking spreadsheets for each division and monitor
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
- Manage the accounting and human resources departments
- Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
- Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsources
- Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems
- Implement operational best policies and procedures
- Oversee the issuance of financial information
- Assist accounting office with year-end statements and tax planning
- Monthly financial statements
- New financing sources including government grants or programs
- Cost tracking by product, division, customer daily while in production
- Oversight and maintenance of new and existing customer and supplier accounts
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Deal directly with EDC, currency Hedges
- Deal with our investment partners, banks, financial institutions, and gov’t agencies with regards to finance, grants, and ways to help us continuously grow while leverage all types of institutional support.
