Market Fresh is an independent, upscale, gourmet food store located in downtown Guelph is seeking a Cold Prep.

Our Market Fresh team is a family of friendly and optimistic individuals who excel in our fast pace and ever changing environment.

This individual must be passionate about food and able to make a minimum of a 1 year commitment to our team.

The position will be a variety of shifts including days, afternoons and weekends anywhere from 7:00am-8:00pm.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Prepare cold side dishes which includes salads, dips, flat-breads and pizzas
- Plan daily quotas for meal prep
- Determine food portion sizes
- Clean/sanitize kitchen and work areas
- Use equipment in the kitchen (ovens, knives, wrapper, etc.)
- Ensure all products are properly dated and rotated within the fridges (FIFO)
- Ensure effective waste control through daily waste sheets and proper rotation of product
- Follow recipes; encourage recipe input to change with the trends
- Organization and cleanliness of department; coolers, fridges, production areas, equipment and storage areas
- Ensure all proper food handling techniques are being used at all times

**Requirements**:

- At least a minimum of 1 year experience in a fast paced Kitchen
- Knowledge of cooking temperatures
- Knife skills
