The Technician’s primary role will be that of technical sales support, which will include research and development of new manufacturer’s products, allowing them to be used by SpecView to support more customers, as well as diagnosing, troubleshooting, and investigation of customer’s technical interactions between their controllers and the SpecView software.

They will work closely with the Sales and Tech Support personnel to ensure that SpecView’s support of the devices used by customers is complete and correct. The Technician will provide recommendations to resolve customer problems. They will also need to be able to explain complex technical issues in a non-technical manner.

The employee will have a good understanding of controls instrumentation and how to interface SpecView to those devices. This will enable the Sales Manager to sell persuasively. The Technician will make recommendations and emphasize the benefits of a particular brand based on the needs of the customer and the capabilities of SpecView to work with these brands. The Technician will supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, and interests, competitive activities, and the potential for new products and services based on feedback from customers.

This position will be suitable for a person who is familiar with industrial control instrumentation on a technical side and can take responsibility for creating SpecView support for new manufacturer instruments, interactions with new and existing manufacturers, and other technical sales support activities. This will allow the Company to reinforce its support of existing customers and allow it to make connections with new manufacturers and resellers.

Ideally, the Technician will have some software engineering expertise, and will be able to later become a junior software engineer as well.
