Business Strategist

The Opportunity:
What you’ll be doing every day:
- Own ad hoc projects ranging in size and scope, including research, analysis, problem discovery, business model mapping and wireframing potential products
- Work with senior leaders across the company to analyze operational challenges, identify new opportunities and develop executional plans to accomplish cross-functional projects
- Help define the strategic priorities for the company based on ApplyBoard’s overarching growth targets and mission
- Research, understand and clearly communicate complex information on industries, products or regulations
- Prepare memos and presentations for senior leadership on corporate strategy topics
- Own and contribute to the end-to-end building of partnerships
What you bring to the table:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in dynamic and analytical environments - i.e. experience in strategy consulting, product management or other high-growth operational roles
- Capable of challenging established thinking and comfortable with having tough conversations
- An ability to drive projects cross-functionally, coordinate feedback, develop consensus and create structure in an unstructured environment
- A research-driven mindset anchored in curiosity and balanced with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to work with all stakeholders at executive and senior leadership levels
- Ability to act without being told what to do; must be capable of bringing new ideas to the table
- Constant sense of urgency - desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Ideally, you also have experience with some of:
- Experience working at a tech company, or in the education sector
- Worked with startups through a variety of funding rounds
- Experience in building and launching products
