**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, the **Food Service Aide** impacts resident centered care by assisting in the preparation and provision of a varied, nutritious, healthy, and high-quality food service. The main accountabilities of the position are preparing and delivering meals, cleaning kitchen and dietary areas and setting up and taking down dining areas. The incumbent in the position fosters and maintains effective relationships with site staff, residents, and family members.

The incumbent also acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of the Foundation.

**Qualifications**

**Experience/Education**:

- Previous experience as a Food Service Aide.
- Previous Long Term / Continuing Care experience considered an asset.
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- WHMIS
- Level One Food Safe course or Food, Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate

**Skills Required**:

- Ability to assist in the preparation and plating of meals and prepares food according to the approved menus.
- Ability to assist with unpacking and storage of food supplies and other food services inventory items into storeroom, refrigerators, and freezer.
- Ability to wash and sanitizes dishes, tools and equipment used in food preparation.
- Ability to take verbal and written direction.
- Ability to work independently and function as part of a team with a commitment to safety.

**Ability to communicate in Cantonese/Mandarin will be considered an asset.**

**All employees are required to submit a criminal record check upon job offer, which includes a vulnerable sector check.**

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $17.53-$19.81 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Food Service Aide: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- Cantonese/Mandarin (preferred)
