**Responsible for**

The multi-talented Carpenter is skilled in the following ways:

- Rough and trim
- Drywall repairs: drywalling, taping, mudding, sanding and finishing
- Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim)
- Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
- Insulation and vapour barrier installation
- Being awesome, in general
- Installation
- Doors
- Trim, moldings, and baseboards
- Hardware installation
- Cabinetry
- Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
- Framing

**What you bring**

The Multi-Skilled Tradesperson brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. Additional abilities required include:

- Interior carpentry repairs
- Leadership to guide helpers and train less experienced workers
- Ability to work well alone or in a team
- Experience working in construction environments
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English

**Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory**:

- Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
- IICRC certification (restoration focus)
- WHMIS
- First Aid

**Of Note**

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

- This position requires a multi skilled tradesperson who can go into a home that had flood or fire damage and be able to fix damaged areas in the home: repairing drywall, painting, fixing damage using rough and trim carpentry. Please describe why you would be the best fit for this job:

- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (Responding to emergency calls after business hours)? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours as per the schedule. Premium and overtime is paid. **this is only required during emergency situations and you would be notified.
- Are you able to work later than scheduled when required? A job may require an additional hour or two of overtime to be fully complete. Being available to work a bit extra to get the job done is helpful (vs returning the next day for a quick finish). Overtime is paid.
- Are you physically fit? This position can be physically demanding and requires a person to bend, crouch, reach, kneel, etc.

**Experience**:

- home renovation: 1 year (preferred)
- rough carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
- drywalling/ drywall repairs/ patching: 1 y
