**Position Summary**:
The Assistant Shipper/Receiver is responsible for assisting and providing support to the Shipper/Receiver, to ensure the efficient movement of products and supplies, in and out of the facility, in order to maintain the company’s goal of 100% on time delivery to our customers.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Prepare item(s) to be shipped. Shrink wrap or band product on skids, and perform any packaging requirements to ensure no damage to products while in transport.
- Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
- Help to keep the warehouse area clean and well organized, placing products in an orderly fashion while ensuring safe stacking of all inventory.
- Assist Shipper/Receiver with other daily shipping and receiving functions as required
- Perform regular shipping area clean up during and at the end of each shift.
- Assist with physical inventory counts on a monthly basis, or more frequently, as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
- Adhere to Quality standards and procedures
- Assist in general assembly processes when required.
- Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.

**Education**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

**Experience**:

- Some previous experience in a warehouse or shipping department preferred. Previous experience in an industrial setting required.

**Licenses/Certificates**:

- Forklift License Required (must attain and maintain)

**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Have excellent math and measurement skills.
- Acute vision and color identification.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate and orderly records.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- This job is performed in an industrial environment, and generally requires 50% standing, 25% walking, 25 % sitting. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling may be required from time to time
- Regular exposure to dust, fumes and noise can be expected
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, are required

**Hours of Work**:

- Regular working hours 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week. Schedule will vary to meet production requirement. Overtime will be a requirement in order to meet unforeseen scheduling and human resource concerns and to respond to equipment malfunctions.
- Sunday to Saturday (07:30 - 19:30)
