We are located in a new facility in Acheson which is located 5 mins from Edmonton on Highway 16 (Yellowhead Trail). In our facility we have for you an onsite cafeteria, outdoor courtyard, brand new offices and manufacturing facilities, as well as access to an active social club. We are currently seeking an Estimator. **Essential Responsibilities**: - Assume responsibility for estimating processes for assigned projects and requirements for all bids - Ensure consistency in all estimating procedures including estimating format, contract terms and conditions, review, and project execution strategies - Manage the Estimating Process and ensure all bid documents are submitted on time - Understand site conditions - Review Safety Requirements - Solicit suppliers and subcontractors - Interpret project drawings and specifications - Prepare quantity survey - Conduct Site visits as required - Maintain computerized estimating system - Establish and Maintain Quote files - Responsible for satisfaction of clients, quality of estimates and the estimated financial performance of assigned projects - Coordinate with project manager in project planning, scheduling and estimating consistency in accordance with clients requirements and expectations; while following Powell Canadas requirements. **Qualifications** - Journeyman Electrician and/or Instrumentation Experience - Minimum 5 years mechanical/electrical Estimating Experience - Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Leadership and supervisor capabilities - Proficiency in MS Office software - Previous Experience of Accubid Pro or equivalent Quoting Software **Who we are** A subsidiary of Powell Industries out of Houston, Texas, a company with 70 years of experience and 3500 employees worldwide, Powell Canada is one of the most reputable electrical manufacturing, valve servicing and electrical/instrumentation contracting companies in Western Canada.
