**Responsibilities**:
- Perform comprehensive oral examinations for pediatric patients, including assessment of dental and oral health, growth, and development.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, addressing both preventive and therapeutic needs.
- Provide specialized dental care for children, including restorative work, sealants, and extractions.
- Administer safe and appropriate sedation techniques to manage anxiety and ensure a comfortable experience for young patients during dental procedures.
- Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care for pediatric patients with special healthcare needs.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and relevant documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry and sedation techniques through continuous education and professional development.
**Qualifications**:
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Valid and current provincial dental license.
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Pediatric Sedation Dentistry preferred, but not required
- Proven experience and competence in administering sedation to pediatric patients preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to dental care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in the field.
