**Research Facilitator, College of Law**:
**Primary Purpose**: To use specialized knowledge of the research community and the research funding enterprise to assist faculty with the development of funding proposals for research projects and strategic initiatives important to the University of Saskatchewan, to increase success in securing funding, and to manage the University of Saskatchewan’s participation in major research Tri-Council funding programs.

**Accountabilities**:

- Working knowledge and understanding of the research funding continuum (ranging from internal College level funding opportunities to international funding opportunities) with particular knowledge of the national funding areas as well as community level, University level and College level opportunities.
- Provide assistance to faculty in managing multiple, concurrent research grants and projects.
- Support faculty in CV building initiatives including research dissemination and research award nominations.
- Participate and collaborate in the development of strategy and operational plans to optimize research funding opportunities.
- In coordination with the Office of the Vice-President Research team, liaise with funding agencies to gain expert knowledge and to develop strong productive relationships.
- Communicate effectively expert knowledge of relevant research funding opportunities to the University community through a number of appropriate communication channels.
- Provide leadership in developing, tracking and maintaining meaningful research metrics for the College.
- Working closely with the Office of the Vice-President Research to maximize the success of large strategic funding opportunities, including centres of excellence, by taking a leadership role in supporting cross-disciplinary linkages, strong partnerships and networks between Colleges and with external collaborators.
- Identify opportunities and foster relationships with the local, national and international communities.
- Build and maintain relationships with College of Law Faculty.
- Work in collaboration and coordination with other units across campus by establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues.
- Participate in the Research Facilitator Forum to contribute to the optimal performance of the group by implementing group objectives and actively engaging in the identification goals, measures of success and process improvements.
- Work with Principal Investigators, co-investigators and co-applicants, collaborators, research teams, and the Office of the Vice-President Research team to improve the quality, quantity and success rate of the University’s Tri-Agency research funding opportunities.
- Work with the Communications Officer for Research communications.
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**Education**: A Graduate Degree (LLM, MA, MSc, MBA, Ph.D.)

**Experience**: A minimum of three years experience working in a research environment in a university setting; experience with interdisciplinary programs, proposal development, granting agencies, excellent writing abilities, project management, and finance, as well as a broad knowledge of academic structure and culture and the national and regional research funding environment; and advanced knowledge of research policies and processes at the University of Saskatchewan would be considered assets. Experiences in cross-cultural contexts would be considered an asset.
