**About Us**

Peach Blossom Childcare Centre Inc. operates four locations in North Vancouver, BC. We are a team of professional childcare providers committed to serving our community by offering high-quality early learning programs and nutritious, thoughtfully prepared meals for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (9 months to 5 years).

We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized **Child Care Centre Cook** to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the well-being of the 60 children enrolled in our programs by providing healthy meals and maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen management.

**Position Summary**

The Child Care Centre Cook is responsible for the daily preparation of nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring compliance with Vancouver Coastal Health regulations. The Cook collaborates closely with the Centre Director/Manager to support smooth kitchen operations and effective coordination with all on-site programs.

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks daily for children ages 9 months to 5 years.
- Maintain the kitchen in an organized, clean, safe, and hygienic condition at all times.
- Complete all housekeeping tasks related to food preparation and clean-up (e.g., dishes, counters, equipment).
- Deliver and collect lunch/snack trays to and from all on-site classrooms.
- Conduct regular inventory of kitchen equipment, groceries, and supplies.
- Prepare weekly grocery and household supply lists in consultation with the Centre Director, ensuring adherence to the centre’s food budget.
- Receive, unpack, and verify weekly food and supply orders.

**Requirements**:

- **Food Safety Certification** (required)
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to North Vancouver, BC before starting work
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Experience in a childcare or commercial kitchen environment is an asset

**Schedule**
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time, daytime hours

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
