**About us**

Some contracts will be oilfield related; this will require H2S and CSO training which is required to be completed prior to being hired.

**Training & Certification Requirements**
- BCCSA Traffic Control Certification
- Valid drivers license with a clean abstract.
- Must have a minimum of Level 1 First Aid, or equivalent.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Use highly technical and complex traffic signals to control the flow of traffic within a certain region or jurisdiction.
- Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Control Manual for Work on Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
- Communicating with other TCPs using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane.
- Physically able to fulfill job requirements and work long hours outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Directing drivers, pedestrians, and workers to safe routes around road construction sites
- Setting up/taking down of signs, barricades, and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off certain areas.
- Communicate instructions and directions to drivers effectively by using standard traffic control motions and signals that are precise and deliberate to be clearly understood by road users.

- comfortable working in and around heavy machinery
- physically fit and reliable
- maintain a calm, professional demeanor at all times
- sense of responsibility for the safety of workers and the public
- ability to lift or move up to 50lbs
- work outdoors for up to 12 hours in all weather conditions

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

- Fort St. John, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (required)
- Traffic Control Person Card (required)
- CSO (preferred)
- H2S Alive (preferred)
