Vancouver, Canada Urban Care Pharmacy Full time

The pharmacy provides OAT services to downtown East Side residents.

**Hours**:9 am to 6 pm, three to four days per week.

**Salary**: $18 to $22 per hour depending on the experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Service**: Greet patients and customers in a friendly and professional manner. Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member.
- **Prescription Processing**: Receive and verify prescription details. Enter patient and prescription information accurately into the pharmacy's computer system.
- **Dispensing Support**: Assist the pharmacist in preparing and labeling prescriptions. This includes counting, pouring, and mixing medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor and maintain an accurate inventory of medications and pharmacy supplies. Place orders for new stock and manage returns of outdated or damaged products.
- **Point of Sale (POS) Operations**: Process sales transactions, handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
- **Administrative Tasks**: File prescriptions, maintain patient records, and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and relevant provincial/state and federal regulations. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA/PIPEDA guidelines.
- **General Pharmacy Maintenance**: Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and well-stocked. This includes sanitizing work areas and ensuring all equipment is in good working order.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical names is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software (Kroll) and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position requires standing for extended periods.
- The role may involve some lifting and carrying of stock.
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays, may be required.
