The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.

The Assembly function in Ultra assembles and wires difficult and complex assemblies, using drawings, operation sets and engineering documents. The Test function will test, fault find and identify the repair to be undertaken on a range of products to meet our customer commitments in terms of quality and timescales. It ensures that the units under test have passed all the parameters as laid down in the Product Test Schedule before releasing.

The role holder will perform the full range of clearly defined procedures, and will typically be considered skilled through on-the-job experience.

We are now recruiting for Production Technicians to work as part of our production team, building, testing, troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of underwater sensors and systems and through-the-earth
- communications solutions. Working with general supervision, the Production Technician performs the following job duties:

- Assembles, tests, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs a wide range of electronics or electro-mechanical parts, sub-assemblies or assemblies in accordance with specifications, diagrams and drawings;
- Applies their knowledge to provide timely testing and troubleshooting on products;
- Builds test equipment;
- Builds electronic jigs and fixtures;
- Basic maintenance of test equipment;
- Test equipment calibration;
- Compiles and analyses records, statistics and formulates basic reports as required;
- Applies formula and calculations as required;
- Recognizes and initiates investigations for workmanship non-conformances.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Required Skills**:

- Electronic Technician or Technologist diploma;
- Soldering skills compliant with recognized industry workmanship standards;
- Up to date knowledge of electronic materials, principles, circuit construction and quality control procedures.
- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity without compromising quality standards;
- Attitude: has a positive can-do attitude in everyday work. Is able to deal with and support change;
- Good communication skills (verbal and written);
- Ability to meet physical job demands.
- The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate NATO Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects

Desired Skills:

- Good working knowledge of recognized industry workmanship standards;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Excellent problem solving skills;

Physical Requirements:

- Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation.
- Willing to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Capable of lifting and moving test equipment and units usually not greater than 50 lbs
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
