Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Operations Manager is a working floor position which you will carry out management responsibilities on production lines and directly report to the President of DPS. You will have support with an upper management team and be responsible for production planning, staff scheduling, data collecting and analysis, and coordinating daily production requirements as well as interacting with customers who arrive on-site.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Production Management**_
- Maintain daily workflow for staff according to the production plan.
- Work closely with focus on Quality and ensure quality standards are satisfied.
- Maintain a significant information flow in the workplace.
- **Data Maintain and Report Preparation**_
- Ensure production counts are accurate.
- **Workplace H&S and Training**_
- Participate in workplace safety and health program. Ensures safety procedures are followed and makes recommendations regarding workplace protection.
- Review, understand, and ensure all operations procedures are followed, serving as a role model to ensure all staffs' compliance. Recommends improvements to procedures.
- **Office Administrative **_
Play a liaison role to assist the President in internal and external communication
**Responsibilities for Operations Manager**
- Direct and coordinate daily operations of Durham Pallet
- Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance
- Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performances
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Screen, interview and manage the on-boarding process of new hires
- Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary
- Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working order
- Repair or have repaired equipment as needed
- Ensuring the health and safety of all employees and visitors, including producers, drivers and other business partners;
- Overseeing the Shipping and receiving of pallets and accuracy of orders
- Providing assistance, guidance, and training with respect to staff growth
- Ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures;
- Developing a culture that fosters positive working relationships within the facility
- Collaborating and working together with DPS team members ensuring complete flow of information (communication to all)
- Ensuring that the facilities and all equipment are clean and well-maintained;
- Ensuring full compliance with all health and safety procedures;
- Motivating all staff to provide friendly service to transport drivers
- Ensuring all employees are properly trained to operate tools and equipment
- Ensuring the facility is clean, including sweeping, brushing down equipment
- Overseeing the implementation of regular repair and maintenance programs;
- Other responsibilities as required.
- Ensuring the health and safety of all employees and visitors and other business partners;
Day to day Operations:
- Hours: 7am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday (Afternoon shift work and weekends on occasions)
- Report in to see if there are any special items that needs to be addressed for the day
- Direct staff to their station as needed
- Communicate with all staff any special requirements for the day
- Operate equipment as needed.
- Communicate with upper management as needed
- Review quality of products in the warehouse
- Assess inbound and outbound activity and judge it accordingly
- Address any concerns that arises with respect and with reasonable actions
- Keep all staff on all shifts working
- Have staff report to you any concerns
- Communicate with upper management regularly on anything that is outstanding / pending or requires attention. Follow up as needed
- Communicate with upper management on regular updates / or completion of outstanding tasks
- Provide updates on outstanding items / concerns or any pending items on a reasonable basis with upper management
- Ensure all equipment is stocked and DPS has spares of all used items
- Ensure the next shift is organized with any special requirements / requests.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Operations manager
- Strong and relatable customer service experience
- Strong and relatable staff interactions experiences
- Experience with machinery problem solving.
- Experience with handling customers concerns.
- Experience leading teams in a team environment.
- Experience leading H&S meetings and implementation of policies and procedures.
