To succeed in this role, you will:

- _Manage a team of claims professionals handling a wide variety of general liability files from low value property damage claims to complex class action lawsuits._
- _ Build team capacity by coaching, mentoring, and developing claims professionals in a collaborative environment._
- _ Oversee the management of general and road liability claims advanced against the Ontario government under the province's self-funded liability insurance program, the General and Road Liability Protection Program (GRLPP)._
- _ Lead liability and coverage assessment, litigation management, and settlement negotiations, including managing relationships with third party adjusters, and internal and external counsel._
- _ Provide advice and recommendations on claim files with significant financial exposure, including communications to senior executives._
- _ Drive continuous improvement in claims operations and contribute to strategic and multi-year planning._
- _ Promote fairness and quality customer service in the resolution of claims from members of the public._

**Meet Your New Team**

You will join the senior management team within the Insurance and Claims Services Branch, which oversees the Ontario government's insurance needs, including insurance acquisition, claims management services, and administration of the Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Fund.
