Participates in the Housekeeping T.Q.M. Program for Pioneer Ridge. **MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Prioritizes and performs routine and project tasks to ensure a safe, clean, attractive living and working environment. - Operates automatic floor scrubbers, high speed floor polishers, wet-dry vacuums and uses ladders. - Safely handles waste, chemicals and body fluids in compliance with Infection Control, W.H.I.M.S. and related policies/standards. - Maintains current records for section Total Quality Management Program. - Maintains supply cupboard, cleans equipment, reports safety defects and hazards and submits weekly supply orders. - Attends meetings and educational programs. - Performs such other duties as may be assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS**: **Education/Experience**: - Minimum grade 10 education, together with previous institutional/commercial housekeeping experience; or - An equivalent combination of education and experience **Skills/Abilities**: - Must be highly motivated, work well in a team environment and be able to work with mínimal supervision - Ability to converse and relate to residents, staff and the public in a courteous and tactful manner - A genuine interest and understanding of the needs of the frail and elderly is necessary - Must be competent within the meaning of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act._ **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**: - Must be physically fit and able to freely bend, stretch, twist and turn to perform all Housekeeping functions - Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at point of conditional offer - Prior to commencing employment, will be required to review and attest/affirm to all Pioneer Ridge Staff Immunization Policies - Must be able to read, write and understand English - Must have successfully undergone a "two step" tuberculosis skin test within the 12 months prior to employment - Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) - Prior to commencing employment, must undergo a successful Offence & Professional Misconduct Declaration Process - Must successfully complete all mandatory training as required by the Corporation on an annual basis **General Information**: **ONTARIO HUMAN RIGHTS CODE**: It is a contravention of the Human Rights Code of Ontario to discriminate on the basis of: race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability, age, record of offences, gender identity or gender expression.
