Bakery Associate

Now hiring team members to join one of Durham Region’s fastest growing retail food stores for our Bakery Team.

We are looking for a baker to help build our bakery into the ultimate destination for our customers.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work as part of a small team, following selected instructions
- Be responsible for reading schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, and processing everything through the ovens
- Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience.

**Qualifications**:

- **Access to reliable transportation, as public transportation is not available**:

- Early-risers Shifts start as early as 7 am.
- A positive attitude and good organizational skills
- People who take pride in a job well done and will look for things to do
- Demonstrated commitment to the bakery's success, and to your own development
- Previous work experience in a kitchen or bakery is considered an asset
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
- Customer service background preferred
- Basic English skills are required to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents and communicate with guests and other Team Members

**Physical Requirements**:

- Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
- Frequent turning and reaching
- Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping

**At least 1 year baking experience is preferred and formal pastry/baking training an asset.**

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
