Assistant Pastry Chef

As an experienced baker with enthusiasm and a passion for quality food, you will work under a red seal pastry chef and will be responsible for ensuring preparation, cooking, taste and presentation are consistently of a high standard. Our bakeries are located in both Sidney and North Saanich specializing in French and Italian fares.
The position entails starting and finishing a daily rotation of puff pastries, tarts, bars, cakes, pies, cookies, macarons and other decadent treats focusing on locally grown fruit and produce right here on the Saanich Peninsula.
This position is full time, 32-40 hours/week between 4 or 5 days. Daytime or Nighttime, shifts are flexible and may be completed at anytime (our kitchens are 24 hours)
Skills and experience required:
- At least 1 year of baking experience, no commercial experience is required, but the right attitude is an asset
- Efficient working ethic.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Positive and dynamic personality with the ability to work under pressure.
- Be able to work independently
- Be willing and eager to learn.
- Use creativity and ingenuity.
- Be a problem solver.
