Vancouver, Canada LBC Studios Full time

**Why this role is made for you**:
You live for reverse-engineering software, understanding how complex systems interact with one another, and identifying the risk at their common points of failure. You are an advocate for the end user, product quality, as well as the best practices that ensure we are managing risks, and meeting our quality standards throughout the full development cycle. As an LBC QA Lead, you will be collaborating with a multi-functional team across all disciplines to help deliver engaging content, robust new features, and live events to our passionate fans. You will be the voice of studio Quality Assurance on multiple multi-million dollar products, responsible for the mentorship of your QA team, approval of robust test-planning across projects, and the overall test strategy executed by the studio.

This is a full-time, remote position.

**A QA Lead's impact**:

- Define the standards of test-planning across multiple projects and mentor the QA team on the principles of creating a good test plan.
- Identify the components of a good bug report, and ensure that bug reporting standards are being met across the development teams.
- Work with QA Analysts on performing root cause analysis when an impact to development, or a defect escape, has been identified, and needs to be deconstructed.
- Collaborate with engineering, production and QA Analysts to triage issues in the product backlog, and help to identify risks, and priorities.
- Establish guidelines on live error monitoring with the QA team, and thresholds for QA sign-off as a new release moves through a staged rollout.
- Identify redundancies in manual testing, and implement a strategy to transfer manual efforts to test automation, or outsourcing solutions.
- Provide hands-on support as needed for fresh-eyes testing, defect tracking, and test-case execution.
- Onboard and train new QA Analysts who join the team.
- Continually mentor QA Analysts on the relationships between complex client, server and API systems, and where the risks between those systems can emerge.

**Your track record includes**:

- 3+ years of experience in a QA Analyst role with 1+ year of QA leadership experience.
- Experience with project management software such as Jira or Assembla.
- Expertise in agile development approaches such as scrum, or kanban, and the role of exploratory testing in an agile environment.
- A deep understanding of common QA principles such as white/grey/black box testing, exploratory testing, test-planning, test-case creation, test automation, root cause analysis, and defect triage.
- Expertise in multiple layers of testing such as unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Knowledgeable in different test approaches, such as smoke testing, sanity testing, regression testing, compliance testing, functional testing, non-functional testing, performance testing, and destructive testing.
- Demonstrated ability to stay disciplined, and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization skills, a proactive mindset, and strong attention to detail.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate to all team members of all disciplines, at all levels.
- Resourceful, innovative, and able to think on your feet.
- Bachelor’s degree of relevant education; game design degree is a plus.
