**Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC)** is an independent officer of the Legislature with a mandate to promote and protect Ontarians' privacy and access to information rights.

We currently have an opening for a
**Manager, Information Technology and Information Management **(IT&IM) to lead IPC's IT&IM plan, digital transformation strategy, IT infrastructure and information management/data operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Corporate Services (i.e., CFO), the Manager IT&IM will be responsible for the effective planning, organization and operation of IT services, systems maintenance, and end user support across the IPC and its departments. This role oversees the development and implementation of IPC's digital transformation strategy, IT project coordination, and information resource and records management.

The Manager IT&IM is also responsible for IT strategic and tactical planning, as well as identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology resources, both internal and external, to support organizational objectives, mitigate cybersecurity and infrastructure threats, analyze and report on organizational performance outcomes.

The Manager IT&IM supervises a team of IT systems support staff and data analysts. They communicate regularly with the CFO and IPC's senior management to provide updates on the IT&IM state of play and performance-related data, analyze and interpret risk assessments, and make strategic recommendations. The Manager IT&IM also communicates directly with end users to explain new or updated IM/IT policies and provides clear operating rules and instructions.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
**Leadership Expertise and Knowledge**
As a technical lead with deep insight into the newest technologies and trends, you will:

- Manage a team of IT systems support staff and data analysts, directing and prioritizing workloads to align with day-to-day operational requirements and strategic IT projects
- Consult and coordinate with IPC's Technology Policy Team to ensure consistency and advise the CFO on new systems requirements, architecture and design of IT solutions that conform to evolving IT standards and best practices
- Advise management and make recommendations on emerging trends, strategic investments, and training in information and access management models and methods to ensure that organizational data and records management practices align with leading-edge technology and business practices
- Serve as IPC's liaison and point person for external IT consultants carrying out large-scale IT projects and threat-risk assessments
- Manage concurrent complex IT and digital projects across a range of enterprise technologies

**Technical Expertise**
Given your strong technical expertise, you will:

- Lead and oversee the design, development and integration of IPC's case management system and other systems and infrastructure platforms such as IPC's Intranet and Internet sites, including the production of various methodologies or frameworks such as Cloud / DevOps environments
- Manage new installations and updates for all IT equipment, including laptops, printers and ensure timely network upgrades for software and hardware maintenance
- Research, design, and implement appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and end-user productivity

**Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**
With your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you will:

- Assess and evaluate organizational IT and digital needs for delivery platforms (i.e. imaging, payment processing and data capture); and identify IT solutions to meet complex requirements
- Identify opportunities and assess the impacts of new digital solutions or enhancements to existing services and infrastructure for performance, sustainability and robustness
- Assess and develop solutions for mitigating risks and ensuring business continuity, where system failure or cybersecurity threat could affect IPC's operations and create a significant negative impact on delivery and security
- Support performance measurement activities as required, including developing effective qualitative and quantitative performance measures and reporting on organizational outcomes

**Project Management Skills**
As the lead of multiple projects, you will:

- Develop and manage multi-year strategic and operational IT plans
- Facilitate planning, coordination and other project management activities and practices to ensure complex and concurrent projects are completed within scheduled timelines and on budget
- Perform the service management and contract management function for IT consulting contracts and/or Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring contracted services and deliverables are met consistent with contractual obligations and SLAs.
