Hiring more than 300 people for the Halloween season, VHN is one of BC's top seasonal employers. **Job Description**: The Manager of People and Culture for VHN is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations of the People and Culture department. Key areas of responsibility include human resource planning; recruitment and selection; analysis and improvement of HR metrics and working closely with department heads, ensuring the strategic initiatives of the organization are met and surpassed. A culture champion, this role will lead culture initiatives that ensure VHN remains a leader in culture and people wellness. In addition to remaining current with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce all established corporate policies and procedures. This role further requires the individual to maintain positive relationships between the management team and employees. The catch? 250 of our almost 300 staff are temporary seasonal workers that are employed from September to November. WHAT YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR: - Provide expertise in the following areas: Recruitment, Data Analysis, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Health & Safety, DEI; Report on KPIs and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics - Drive process improvements - Evaluating the business processes of the organization; identifying process improvements and supporting performance measurement systems to improve the people experience - Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies related to employees and their working environment. Using consultative, firsthand, as well as strategic approach ensuring all policies meet the needs of VHN's people and business objectives - Identify current and upcoming staff vacancies in consultation with other departments - Facilitate interviews and support hiring managers - Responsible for our Zoho Recruit system; Remain current with best practices, legislative changes, and industry standards - Supervise the administration of classifications for all non-management and new non-management positions - Oversee employee orientation and onboarding, review annually for corporate effectiveness - Advise and assist departmental managers on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs, and best practices - Supports our CEO with strategic HR planning, workforce management, committees, strategy, and operations, acts in the absence of CEO - Leads People and Culture generalist team - Develops succession and development plans in conjunction with People and Culture generalists - Maintain a clear pulse of emerging people environment, culture and engagement - Lead all P&C cyclical processes including Performance Management, Compensation, Talent Review - Provide day to day coaching as applicable on various issues - Help provide our team with year-round engagement through activities, outings, dinners, and other fun activities to keep our seasonal employees happy all year round COVID-19 & DIVERSITY Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations are a condition of employment at VHN due to the size of our staff and the number of daily guests in our Scream Park. **Requirements**: THE EXPERIENCE OF A STRONG CANDIDATE: - Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Relative designation is preferred but not required. - 3-5 years of related experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership capacity - Ability to think strategically; demonstrated track record of implementing scalable solutions - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - Passionate, self-motivated and inspiring in developing people and leaders - Proven ability to coach and influence leaders and peers - Demonstrated emotional intelligence to establish trust, maintain confidential information and foster a strong relationship with business leaders, partners and top talent - Comfortable cultivating relationships inside and outside of the organization - Ability to partner effectively and work in a dynamic, fast-paced and agile environment - Must not be afraid of the dark : ) **Benefits**: THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO: - A Generous salary, scaling upward depending on experience, skill and qualification - Generous perks, in
