**The Program**:
ExCel Discovery is an Open Custody program designed to meet the needs of adolescent young offenders who have been sentenced to complete a portion of their custodial time in the community. The overall goal of the program is to support young offenders in successfully transitioning from being in secure custody, to life in the community. The program offers a strength based, trauma informed, harm reduction philosophy for youth with extensive histories of trauma, neglect, addictions, mental health issues, and involvement in the criminal justice system.

**The Position**:Program Supervisor - Live in Program**

This position will be based at the Program and will include direct involvement and support of the program team, youth, and consultation with Solicitor General. This position will be part of the Enviros leadership team and will ensure that day-to-day operations follow program protocols and Enviros policy.

**Responsibilities**

1.Supervise a team of staff members up to 10 individuals

2.Consultation and reporting to Solicitor General

3.Ensure all Accreditation standards are upkept and met

4.Completion and overseeing of documentation and case management

5.Complete scheduling to ensure program is properly staffed

6.Active member of the leadership team

7.Oversee and approve staff timesheets, and time-off

8.Supports group care on-call on a rotational basis

9.Attend all leadership meetings

10.Conduct staff meetings

11.Along with the program manager, ensure that the budget is reviewed and adhered to

12.Provide regular supervision of staff members

13.Provide support when needed to clients

14.Recruitment, staff performance evaluations and staff training as required by CAC guidelines and ensure all staff training are current

15.Oversee household health and safety standards and overall housekeeping duties

**Competencies**

-Strong supervisory communication skills

-Subject matter expert on child and youth care programs

-Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

-Able to provide effective feedback and supervision to staff

**Education & Experience**

-Post-secondary education in a Human Services related field

-Experience and demonstrated skills in supervising staff

-Experience working with at-risk youth

-Experience working with Children’s Services or Youth Criminal Justice is considered an asset.

-CPR and first aid certification

**Other Qualifications**

-Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted)

-A clean driver’s abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offence

-Police Record Check with Vulnerable sector check (within six (6) months)

-Child Intervention Check (within six (6) months)

**Salary**: $60,000 - $67,000 annually
