**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Night Shift Worker - Homeward Bound**

**Job Type**:Full - Time (guaranteed 32 hours per week)

**Location**:1169 Branion Dr., Prince Albert, SK

**Reports To**:Homeward Bound Manager

**Responsibilities**:
Night Support Workersare members of the Homeward Bound team and work together to provide housing supports for clients in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience in human services, supported housing, or with persons with disabilities/addictions;
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and marginalized populations;
- Driver’s license;
- Vehicle;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Basic computer skills;
- Must pass criminal record check and vulnerable sector check;
- Ability to work independently;

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Review communication board and log books when coming on shift, review who is on-call staff and supervisor;
- Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable in a friendly and courteous manner;
- Ensure property security alarms and cameras are on and functional;
- Assist other programs when requested, to ensure safety of staff and residents;
- Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all unusual occurrences or suspicious activities;
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required;
- Be available for community members for mentorship and consultations via telephone;
- Assist community members, guests, employees during emergency situations;
- Ask for assistance from night float as needed, additional support with incidents or additional cleaning duties;
- Be aware of emergency procedures in the event of the need for building evacuations;
- Notify appropriate individuals (on-call staff, Supervisor, Manager) and/or authorities in the event of accidents, incidents or other noteworthy information;
- Transport clients in accordance with established client transportation policies/protocols, ex. (emergencies);
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times;
- Debrief with shift rotation;
- Escort any unwelcome persons from the property when safe to do so
- If unable to do this safely, contact local authorities;
- Write clear and concise incident reports when necessary;
**SPECIFIC SHIFT DUTIES**
- Open lounge up at 8:00 AM- start coffee for clients
- Ensure all office and lounge windows and doors are locked
- Monitor security cameras as appropriate Occasional checks of apartments of clients requiring heightened lifestyle monitoring
- Complete nightly Communications Log Book Work with/assist other programs as necessary
- Ensure workspaces/recreational spaces are cleaned after use by clients
- Conduct regular patrols of hallways, parking lots, stairwells and common spaces
- Responsible for cleaning duties

**SPECIFIC PROGRAM RESPONSBILITIES-**

**Homeward Bound Daily**
- Complete rounds every hour
- Sweep and mop hallways and stairwells on first, second & 3rd floor 1169
- Disinfect and wipe down surface areas
- Clean 101, 201, 206, 311, as per chore list and special chore list.
- Ensure all office and lounge windows and doors are locked
- Ensure area outside around entranceways are free of garbage
- Empty all garbage's and take out all to bins
- Ensure area around Gazebo is garbage free and neat and tidy
- Prepare morning coffee in 101 lounge
- Spot wash walls as needed
- Complete nightly Communications Log Book
- Disinfect all handles and railings
- Plug in vehicles during the winter months

**SPECIFIC PROGRAM RESPONSBILITIES**

**Oakdale Daily**

- Complete rounds every hour and check-ins on designated clients as outlined
- Sweep and mop all hallway landings
- Disinfect and wipe down surface areas
- Tidy up all hallways.
- Clean 405, 407 and 310 as per chore list and special chore list.
- Ensure all office and lounge windows and doors are locked
- Ensure area outside around entranceways is free of garbage and cigarette butts
- Empty all garbage's and take out all to bins
- Prepare morning coffee in 405 lounge
- Spot wash walls as needed
- Complete nightly Communications Log Book
- Disinfect all handles and railings
- Plug in vehicles during the winter months
- Tidy up patio as necessary

**SPECIFIC PROGRAM RESPONSBILITIES**

**Kindred Spirit Daily**
- Sweep and mop hallways and stairwells on first, second & 3rd floor 1181
- Clean 22, 16 and 6 as per chore list (please include bathrooms)
