The Government Grant Advisor facilitates research, development, review, and editing of departmental and/or institutional grant proposals; conducts basic research for potential funding sources and maintains databases while supporting faculty and administration in developing proposals.
- Responsibilities_
- Facilitates, reviews, and edits grant proposals; conducts library and electronic research; compiles data; inputs and retrieves data via a computer.
- Conducts research on potential funding sources; maintains contact with external agencies.
- Develops and transforms ideas into grant proposals and serves as a liaison between Bamford Produce and grant agencies.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with various internal departments.
- May coordinate project activities; prepares and processes letters and correspondence, presentation materials, and manuscripts; maintains funding opportunity databases, activity tracking system, and related confidential files.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Research governmental, foundation, and corporate grants
- Conduct interdepartmental meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, and coordinate and research grant preparation assignments.
- Provide timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements, and procedures; collaborates in defining and implementing project funding strategies.
- Provide assistance in resolving issues and conflicts with funding agencies.
- Coordinate and plan funding program activities, including the prioritization, planning, and scheduling of activities to guide program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review revenues and expenditures, project status, to ensure proper expenditures are made for Federal grant projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with funders
- Develop project descriptions, evaluation plans
- Oversee reporting requirements for grants and contracts.
- Handle confidential financial records and grant materials with great discretion
- Analyze new strategies for income and provide written recommendations

- Job Type: Permanent Full-time
- Probationary Period: 3 months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: 2501-A Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON, L4Y 1R6
- Shift Requirement: Must be flexible on Sunday to Fridays depending on operation needs
- Compensation: TBD in the interview
- Benefits: Group Benefits entitlement upon completion of probation time
**Qualifications**:
- College Diploma/University Degree
- 3+ years of experience working in an administrative position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
- Resourcefulness and flexibility.
- Meticulous record-keeping skills.
- Professional appearance and telephone manners.
