Our **Ottawa/ Mississauga /Waterloo **, Ontario **office is seeking a **Waste Management Engineer-in-Training **ready to join one of our fastest growing Canadian Operations. This position is a phenomenal opportunity to be part of an established waste management practice in Canada with a vision of changing waste to resources. We are seeking a technically strong waste management engineer-in-training to grow into an industry leader with our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to waste projects that include zero waste strategies, anaerobic digestion facilities, composting facilities, landfills, transfer stations and/or waste-to-energy facilities.
- Participate in the decarbonization of waste through our Future energy initiative with the execution of Renewable Natural Gas and hydrogen projects.
- Complete tasks for waste projects requiring permitting, operations support, detailed design, construction administration, studies, GHG and environmental benefits analysis, and support strategic business development activities. Tasks to include collaboration with multi-discipline engineering personnel and technical personnel to complete deliverables that span from feasibility through design, construction, commissioning to operation.
- Complete field oversight of waste management facility construction, rehabilitation/repairs and operations. Complete field investigations at waste management facilities to support design and environmental compliance reporting. Prepare field notes, mark-up drawings, support payment certification, and participate in communication to clients on observed activities.
- Support preparation of proposals with other Waste Management Team members
- Effectively communicate and connect with team members, contractors and clients.

**Qualifications**:

- Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering degree
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and French
- Valid drivers' license with driving record in good standing
- Willingness and ability for travel within Ontario, Canada and internationally and to conduct field work, as required
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of organics management, technologies and regulations will be an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ontario waste management regulatory framework
