**Job Summary**

The Social Support Worker is responsible for directly intervening with the Sycamore centre’s beneficiaries.

This role ensures the needs of the beneficiaries are met, provides appropriate interventions and support to help them develop their full potential, and contributes to creating a welcoming, peaceful and safe community.

**Position Details**

**Job Type**: Part time

**Location**: Sycamore Centre (50 Thames St S, Ingersoll, ON N5C 2S9)

**Available Positions**: 1

**Main Responsibilities**

Welcome and integrate beneficiaries into the Sycamore centre with care and respect.

Build relationships with the beneficiaries by engaging in activities with them and getting to know them.

Assess the needs of beneficiaries and provide appropriate interventions according to and in adherence to the code of ethics and code of conduct.

Collaborate with beneficiaries to develop intervention plans when necessary and follow through with them.

Develop and facilitate group workshops and activities.

Prepare required reports and inform your team of any significant issues affecting the smooth running of activities or material damage.

Be open, ready and able to have conversations about God, share the gospel of Christ and pray with beneficiaries when the occasion presents itself.

**Profile**:

- Qualifications**

College or university degree in special education, intervention, social work, psychology, psychoeducation, or a related field (Not a requirement)

Psychosocial intervention experience

Experience in the community sector

Excellent psychosocial intervention abilities

Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing

Good interpersonal skills

Good understanding of psychosocial intervention approaches and techniques for working with vulnerable individuals (de-escalation, conflict resolution, etc.)

Basic computer skills
