Residential Support Assistant

Come join our team of dedicated skilled staff** We are recruiting for a Residential Support Assistant - Full Time - Nights (Asleep) - working 80 hours a pay period. You will be responsible for supporting people to live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community and have the opportunity to participate effectively based on the goals and objectives identified by the individual and/or their support network. These supports shall be provided in a manner that promotes the care, welfare, safety, and security of the people being supported. Qualifications and experience for the role are as follows:
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or Diploma in Human Services (i.e. DSW, CYW, SSW) or an acceptable equivalent. PSW will also be considered.
- Previous work experience supporting people with a developmental disability. Specifically, those with complex special needs.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills. Good organizational, communication and problem solving skills, coupled with the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with other staff, professional support services and members of the community.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- First Aid, CPR and have physical capacity to safely employ approved behavioral intervention techniques.
- Pharmacology (or willing to obtain)
- Basic computer skills
- Good attendance record
- Be able to work nights and weekend rotations
- Must be able to provide a clear vulnerable sector police check
**Rate of Pay and hours of sleep**:
Awake hours paid at: $24.68 to $24.86/hr.
Asleep hours paid at: $17.50/hr.
