We are hiring a **Group Retirement Service Administrator** in our Toronto office. The Group Retirement Service Administrator will provide support and service to group retirement clients. As an extension of our clients’ HR/Finance departments, the Group Retirement Service Administrator will support payroll and employee services pertaining to retirement programs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Main contact in third-party administration payroll support
- Manage weekly, biweekly, monthly contribution remittances
- Track employee eligibility for managing contribution files back to payroll, processing of enrollment forms and managing terminations and leave and subsequent notice to the recordkeeper
- Compile and distribute enrollment packages on a set schedule
- Understand the client’s payroll cycle, contribution remittance schedules and be responsible for referencing the system for resolving retirement plan related inquiries
- As required: research, respond to plan member inquiries and assist members with completion of necessary documents
- Confirm information for the client’s payroll department and recordkeeper upon request
- File maintenance of member documents
- Work closely with the Group Retirement team to coordinate and compile materials for client meetings and employee communication
- Assist with new plan and subgroup implementations and amendments
- Be the main point of contact and liaise with the recordkeepers
- Other Duties as Assigned
**Education**:
- College or university graduate, or equivalent business experience
- Completion of Pension related courses such as the IFC - Canadian Securities Institute; Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation, those with an understanding of the Canadian financial services landscape
Qualifications:
- Understanding of and experience working with all types of group retirement plans
- Preferably, a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience within the group retirement industry, ideally with client interaction. Alternatively, experience within the Financial Planning/Insurance industry
- Strength in quality, detail-orientation and mathematical aptitude
Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity
- Understands the client’s perspective and priorities
- Superior customer service skills including excellent oral and written communication and able to work well in a team environment
- Bilingual English and French preferred
- Ensure that quality control and service standards are attained with every transaction
- Displays flexibility and adaptation of positive skills in a constantly changing environment
- A self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate appropriate level of initiative, creativity and analytical skills
