Maeric is a transportation company specializing in the movement of bulk materials utilizing walking floor trailers. Continued growth has created another opening for a Class 1 Driver with experience running in all weather conditions. This is a permanent, full time position based out of Calgary. Typical runs are central and southern Alberta with scheduled early morning departure times Monday through Friday, typically 12 hours per day, 5 days per week. We have steady, consistent work and will keep you busy.

Reliability, decent truck handling skills and a positive attitude are key attributes. You must be comfortable and capable with manual transmissions. Walking floor experience is desirable, but not mandatory.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Safely and efficiently operate a semi trailer truck in rural and city environments
- Perform daily pre trip inspections, and report potential issues
- Complete paperwork and log books to required standards and to document work
- Use knowledge of hi way traffic routes to efficiently complete assigned work
- Represent our company in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Maintain open, accurate and transparent communication with management
- Keep your truck cab organized, clean and presentable
- Perform regular and occasional maintenance of your assigned tractor and trailer unit (such as fueling, greasing, minor repairs)

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Class 1 driver’s license, with a minimum of 3 years experience in that license classification
- Competent with manual transmissions
- A clean commercial driver’s abstract
- A focus on safety in all aspects of operations
- A positive attitude, with a demonstrated ability to follow directions
- Competent practical truck handling skills, such as maneuvering, backing up, and safely navigating through streets
- Experienced in all weather conditions
- Good physical fitness
- Reliable, and eager to grow with the company
- Team player but able to work independently
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical abilities

**Nice to Have Qualifications**:

- Experience with walking floor trailers
- Field troubleshooting skills
- Computer skills
