**OVERVIEW**

Responsible for daily ED IT Systems management, trouble shooting and maintenance, and supporting third party vendors and software builds. Working independently and under the direction of /in partnership with the ED Management Team and ED Medical Director, and liaising with MGH Informational Technology (IT) Team, be involved in training, development design, implementation and support of future ED information systems. Liaise with ED staff, management and IT/IS personnel to improve processes and increase standards of patient care in the overall system architecture.

**EDUCATION**
- Diploma or degree, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previously participated with the implementation of clinical systems.
- Clinical healthcare background, 5 years preferred.

1. Programming:

- Programming in any recognized language, Visual Basic preferred.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio.
- Web page development and deployment.
- Understanding of system security best practices.

2. Database Management
- Understanding relational database knowledge: Querying SQL.
- Querying multiple tables and joining them together.

3. Support and Build Cerner FirstNet Applications
- Solid understanding of business and clinical workflow analysis, requirements gathering, documentation and system design.
- Detailed understanding and working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (experience with Cerner system preferred).
- Understanding of HL7 interfaces.

4. Microsoft 365
- Proficient experience in MS 365 and the MS product line (Excel, Sharepoint).
- Hardware and Network Configuration.
- Ability to assist with the maintenance and support of our frontline PCs and other hardware as well as mapping network drives.
- Solid trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to make policy and procedure design recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, motivated individual able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge/experience in adult training methodologies desirable.
- Good work and attendance record required.
