**Looking for**: - Registered Optician in good standing with the College of Opticians of Ontario - Full-time position - Both Newly Registered and Experienced Opticians are welcome to apply - Flexible start date, but aiming for November 2025 **About Us** We are an independent optical serving Oshawa and the Durham Region since 1978. We have worked hard to build a strong reputation for Service and “going the extra mile” for our patients, and we often provide options and solutions they cannot find anywhere else. Our extensive lens catalogue, ability to customize frames and tints, and extra services such as Vision Therapy, Customized Contacts, Low Vision, Safeties and Repairs has created a fun and dynamic kind of practice with opportunities for our Opticians to engage their own interests within the field. We foster a workplace that is positive, inclusive, collaborative, and generally fun, but there are a lot of moving parts, **therefore attention to detail and good work habits are critical.** - You are tired of a basic job with simple lenses and a faceless head office. - You’d like your skills to grow and not stagnate. - You double-check your work. - You’d like to do more for your patients but can’t because your lab doesn’t have all the required tools. - You’re curious about what else is out there to help your patients with vision. - You like to collaborate with your colleagues to find solutions; - You appreciate some help and support when you get a tricky prescription; - You also like helping your colleagues in return when they get tricky prescriptions; - You like the opportunity to attend conventions and trade shows; - You’re completely new to this field and would appreciate mentorship; - You work to foster an inclusive and constructive workplace environment; - You like to see what’s going on in the industry, whether it’s technology or fashion; - You enjoy meeting lens and frame reps and asking them about the products directly; - You appreciate being asked your opinion and included in planning and discussions; - You are still willing to learn new approaches; - You do your best to care for the patients; - You prioritize "getting the fit right" over "upselling" - I prefer to work alone - I like the simplicity that comes from having limited lens and frame options - I don't need to know anything more than the basic info to dispense glasses - I know everything **How To Apply**: - Include a short paragraph or two about why you’d like to work at an independent optical.
