**Compten Management Inc.** is a family-owned and operated, property management firm primarily in the multi-residential industry with approximately 2300 units under management. We are currently seeking a **General Manager - Multi-Residential Property Management **to join our Compten Management team. This position reports to the Vice President and is responsible for several key aspects of the management of our portfolio including turnover renovations, ongoing maintenance, tenant relations and the operation, physical condition and financial performance of all buildings. The position has accountability for employee management, planning, organizing and directing property management functions within the portfolio. This role will also coordinate with Senior Property Managers and Site Managers.
As a member of the property management team the key responsibilities of the **General Manager - Multi-Residential Property Management **include but are not limited to:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage property operations to achieve budgeted financial results
- Assign turnover units to third party contractors and manage the timeline of turnover renovations as well as the performance of third party contactors. Audit invoices related to this work.
- Manage ongoing inventory and Purchase Orders
- Develop and maintain building procedures and supervise building operations
- Assist with the implementation of new programs, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Conduct periodic property inspections
- Ensure high levels of tenant satisfaction through strong tenant relationships
- Supervision, management, motivation and coaching of employees
- Perform ongoing assessments and management of performance of subordinates, and seek and implement opportunities for their development and advancement
**Required Knowledge and Experience**:
- Minimum of five (5) years Multi-Residential Property Management experience
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Experience with YARDI (Voyager 7S) and/or Property Vista would be an asset
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate and develop new ideas with supportable results
- Effective negotiation skills to influence and impact at all levels - senior management, peers, direct and indirect reports
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify risk, thereby mitigating liability
- Strong computer skills - MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Reliable vehicle required travelling to various sites in Toronto and GTA. Mileage compensated.
