**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**

This role reports to designated staff or faculty member.

**SUMMARY**

The student assistant will manage the Fine Arts studio space and support students during open studio times. This position may assist with one or more of the following Fine Arts areas:

- Ceramics
- Digital Media
- Painting and Drawing
- Photography
- Print Media
- Sculpture

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee the use of the studio by students
- Helping students operate studio equipment
- Set-up studio equipment
- Keeping studios clean and tidy
- Ensure that all students have left, equipment is properly shut off, and the studio is properly closed at the end of the assigned period
- Post the hours when students will have access to the studio for practice and completion of assignments, and will be present during those hours
- Posting department news and student club activities on department social media accounts
- Report any problems occurring during their steward to Security, IT, and/or the staff/faculty as appropriate

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other students, faculty and university employees
- Good inter-personal skills
- Well organized and dependable
- Completed introduction class to Fine Arts area of interest or equivalent training
- Ability to travel between campuses is required.
- **Salary Information**

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum Wage

One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%

With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
