Mississauga, Canada Box Bus Inc Full time

Box Bus has Immediate openings for **Minivan and Cargo van owner-operators** for last-mile delivery in the GTA. We have work every weekday from warehouses in Mississauga, Vaughn and Scarborough.

This position **requires you to have your own Cargo van or Minivan.** (No cars, pickups or SUVs)
Ideal vehicles are Sprinter, Transit / Transit Connect, Promaster / Promaster City, Nissan NV200, Sienna, Sedona, Astro, Odyssey or Dodge Caravan. Lots of room, not lots of weight.
You are driving your own van so N licenses are acceptable.

Deliveries are in the GTA but in one zone each day, not all over the place. Typical km/day is 100 as the routes are dense. 11 am start time, 7-9 hour days. Shifts are available Monday-Friday with some weekend work.
- A typical day for Minivans and Small Cargo Vans (2.0L-3.6L) is 70-100 stops ~$210-$300/day. Routes close to Station (5-6.5 hours) pay less than routes further out, (7.5 - 9 hours) but closer routes get done quicker. Minivan and Small Cargo Vans (2.0L-3.6L)rate = $3.00/stop.
- During busier Peak months (Oct-Jan) this can be $400/day or more.
- That works out to $30-$40 per hour typically for Minivans and Small Cargo Vans (2.0L-3.6L). 7-9 Hour days.
- A typical day for Cargo Vans (V8, 4L+) is 80-120 stops ~$280-$420/day. Routes close to Station (5-7 hours) pay less than routes further out, (8 - 10 hours) but closer routes get done quicker. Cargo Van (V8, 4L+) rate = $3.50/stop
- During busier Peak months (Oct-Jan) this can be $450/day or more.
- That works out to $35-$45 per hour typically for Cargo Vans (V8, 4L+). 8-10 Hour days.
- Essential worker position, so you'll have work even if another lockdown occurs.
- Full-time and part-time positions are available.

**Requirements**:

- Safety Vest (Class 2), and Hard-toes Shoes/boots. (100% Mandatory at Warehouse, not on road)
- Winter / All-Weather Tires (Not All-Season) We will check to ensure they are up to standards.
- **Must provide a vehicle for the work**. Cargo Van / Minivan. (Cars and SUVs are too small and Cube trucks are too big. Pickups do not work for this job. No Trailers.)
- Can safely get in and out of your van multiple times a day.
- Have a smartphone with a data plan.
- Relatively clean driver abstract.
- No DUI/DWI or suspensions within five previous years.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent English communication skills

Preferred:

- 1+ year of courier experience in the GTA area.
- Customer service background.
- A can-do attitude.
- Time management skills.
