The **Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation** is a not-for-profit public agency of the Government of
Alberta that guarantees deposits and provides risk-based regulatory oversight to enable a safe and sound
credit union system in Alberta. Our primary roles include:
- Providing a 100% guarantee of deposits held with Alberta credit unions
- Regulating credit unions and enforcing the Credit Union Act
- Revising, advising and directing credit unions on sound business practices
- Monitoring credit union performance and implementing appropriate actions to improve
- performance and reduce risks- Establishing individual credit union loan approval limits and providing an appropriate adjudication
process for loans that exceed these limits

This position reports to the President & CEO and is primarily responsible for providing complex and
confidential administrative support to the President & CEO and the Board of Directors and providing
additional support to the Executive Team on an ad hoc basis. The Executive Assistant ensures the
President & CEO is able to devote their attention to high level priorities by eliminating any unnecessary
or time consuming constraints for the President & CEO that can be addressed at the Executive Assistant
Level.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide complex and confidential administrative support to the President & CEO, Executive Team,
and Board of Directors to free up their time and allow them to devote their attention to high level
priorities.
- Book meetings for the President & CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors and ensure their
calendars are kept up to date.

- Coordinate and prepare Executive Team meeting agendas, attend all Executive Team meetings, and
record action items from Executive Team meetings.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders to coordinate arrangements and set up meetings with the President
& CEO, the Corporation’s Executives/departments, and Board of Directors.
- Gather, create, proofread, and post documents for multiple stakeholders (e.g. correspondence,
meeting packages, Board reference material, etc.) on SharePoint often well in advance of meetings.
- Prepare expense claims for the President & CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
- Prepare agendas for Board and Committee meetings and circulate to senior management and
- Board/Committee Chairs for additional items/approval.- Attend all Board and Committee meetings.
- Record, prepare, and post Board and Committee meeting minutes on SharePoint.
- Prepare Directors’ Fees monthly for approval.
**Executive Assistant
- Coordinate travel arrangements for the President & CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors
- including booking hotels, airfare, course/seminar registrations, etc.- Organize Corporate and Board and Committee luncheons and dinners as required.
- Provide secretarial support to Board of Directors as required.
- Perform backup duties in the absence of the Corporate Assistant including assisting the Regulation
& Risk Assessment department, facility maintenance coordination, facility vendor coordination,
reception duties, and facility maintenance duties.
**THE PERSON**:
- 5+ years job related experience at an Executive Assistant level providing administrative support to a
senior executive or an executive team and a Board of Directors.
- Direct work experience in Government, Government agencies, or the Credit Union system
is an asset.
- Understanding of and experience with Board Governance is an asset.
- Secretarial/Administrative certificate or diploma.
- Ability to establish priorities while maintaining a high level of performance under pressure ensuring
- deadlines are met.- Ability to thrive in a hybrid working environment where employees and stakeholders may not be
- readily available for in-person communication.- Knowledge of meeting procedures to optimize meeting effectiveness including in-person, hybrid, and
- remote meetings.- Excellent technology skills utilizing MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and other technology
- enabling high quality hybrid meetings and remote work.- Knowledge of the requirements of Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
- (FOIP) and Credit Union Act pertaining to the role.- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Efficient editing and proofreading of documents.
