**Opportunity Summary**

The Compass is seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-Time Accounting Manager to provide essential financial expertise as we expand our business to address the critical issue of food insecurity in Mississauga. This newly created position is integral to our paid staff support, requiring a hands-on professional to ensure financial accuracy, manage reporting, and contribute to our strategic financial health.

**What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities**

**1. Financial Reporting & Analysis**
- Assists Treasurer in ensuring that accounting is accurate and timely
- Prepare financial statements for management and Board use.
- Take an active and important role in annual budget preparation.
- Prepare specialized financial reports required by granting agencies.
- Track, analyze, and report on revenues and expenses to assess business performance.
- Undertake ad hoc analyses for management and/or the Finance Committee.

**2. Accounting Operations & Compliance**
- Oversee the work of the part-time bookkeeper
- Undertakes the generation and distribution of annual income tax receipts.
- Assists with various banking activities.
- File the semi-annual HST rebate.
- Update and maintain the capital assets subledger.
- Significant involvement with the year-end audit process.

**3. Other**
- Act as a key user of the organization’s donation management system.
- Work with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to review systems and processes and implement improvements
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, with a main focus on disbursements.

**What We're Looking For: Qualifications**

**Education & Experience**
- A professional accounting degree is required.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
- Past experience working at a charity or similar-sized business is desirable.

**Essential Skills & Attributes**
- Expert level knowledge and experience using QuickBooks Online is mandatory.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

**Important Details**

**Work Schedule**:
20-24 hours per week, the majority of which will take place at the office.

**Pay Rate**:
Commensurate with experience. Salary range is $30-$35 per hour.

**Target Start Date**:
December 2025.

**Additional Requirements**:

- A Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required prior to commencing work.
- A Standard First Aid certificate is required, but can be completed after starting work.
