Equestrian Coach

**Responsibilities**
- As directed, teach lessons assigned by the Head Coach School Program or designate
- Provide meaningful training rides, as assigned by Head Coach School Program or Head Coach — Competition
- Ensure the safety of students and horses during lessons
- Ensure horses, tack, and equipment are prepared and put away properly after each lesson
- Be a role model for students at all times in terms of personal actions
- Perform other duties as required or assigned

**Qualifications**
- Equestrian Canada coaching certification (minimum Competition Coach designation)
- Minimum 5 years' experience riding, training, and competing Hunter/Jumper horses
- Knowledge of best practice instructional methodologies
- Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driver abstract
- BC Teaching Certification would be an asset

**Working Conditions**
- Scheduled for 30-40 hours per week
- Ability and willingness to work to work weekends and evenings during as scheduled for lessons, horse shows, special events
- Heavy lifting up to 40 lbs (saddles, hay bales)
- Possibility for additional on-call coaching hours
