Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team Lead

Nucor Environmental Solutions is seeking an experienced Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team Lead for our Edmonton Office.
The Team Leader assumes responsibility for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, including but not limited to safety, training and field work.
There will be interaction required between Nucor Environmental Solution’s Emergency Response and Industrial Cleaning divisions both in Alberta and British Columbia.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure site safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded, and implementation of company’s safety policies
- Coordinate and communicate effectively all necessary project safety requirements and make sure procedures are implemented on every project
- Provide strong leadership and clear direction to field team members
- Ensure that the quality of the services and workmanship meet or exceed Nucor standards.
- Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients
- Participate in the local environmental industry through seminars, industry specific training, and conferences
**Qualifications and Education**
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Technician Level
- NFPA 1001
- NFPA 472 Tank Car / Tank Truck Specialist
- Confined Space Rescue Certification
**Experience**
- A technical understanding of spill response needs, containers, products, regulatory expectations
- Health and Safety Background.
- Previous experience in chemical handling, transferring, and waste management
- Self-motivated.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are beneficial.
- Accuracy/ attention to detail.
- Ability to think outside of the box.
- Combination of training, education and experience.

Hourly: $25.00-$40.00 per hour.
