Tooling Technician
We are growing our team, and we are seeking a Tooling Technician who will be key in supporting the operations team as we move from design to implementation of our green ammonia production technology. As we are a growing organization, this position will initially report to the COO, and will shift the reporting structure in the near future.
**Who we are**:
FuelPositive is a Canadian based, clean technology company, working to fight climate change by creating and developing practical, clean, and sustainable carbon-free solutions that can be implemented economically now. Above all, we believe in being kind - to the earth, to each other, and to ourselves. We believe that being kind will pay dividends for us all. It’s all about Fuel for a Mindful World.
**What we make**:
We are a progressive and dynamic team committed to providing solutions to solving climate change. Our containerized, green ammonia production technology disrupts the traditional model and sets a new standard for sustainability and decentralization. If you want to make a Positive impact, be relevant and make a change, join our team and become a part of the solution
**What you will do**:
In collaboration with the Engineering team, you will work with design drawings to assemble the FuelPositive systems. Part of this process will include an element of continuous improvement; you will document changes and improvements to the drawings; you will work with engineering to capture these changes; and you will take a lead on commissioning and testing of the systems. Sounds exciting right?
You will also support and work on creating detailed drawings with weld specifications, GD&T and assembly specifications. Excelling at what we do is important, and so you will be part of the design review process, providing your expert input on how we can do things better to deliver the best product to our customers. You will support the project management and quality teams in procurement and quality control of outsourced manufactured components, and assemblies. You don’t mind travelling a bit, which you will get to do as you support the installation and support of our systems. As our systems and services develop, you will play a key role in ensuring that the manuals are up to date. There will be lots to do, so this summary is only an idea of what the role holds for you. Does this sound like the right job for you?
Keep reading below. If not, check back for other postings as we continue to grow our teams.
**Who you are**:
You’ve seen our values, and they resonate with you. You are passionate about participating in creating solutions to climate change. You hold one or more of the following trade licences:
- General Machinist
- Tool & Die Maker
- Industrial Electrician
- Welding Certification
You have at least 2 years of relevant industry experience in a mechanical assembly and modification capacity. You are also familiar with Industrial Controls with Allen Bradley, Omron and Siemens. Your day-to-day work will require you to have a strong background and hands-on experience in welding with stainless steel, small pipe assembly, pneumatic compressors and hydraulic systems. You possess the ability to communicate clearly, whether it is to your colleagues, to contractors or stakeholders - talking to people and getting your message across in a positive and collaborative way is a strength of yours. You have the ability to move around the Waterloo Region as you will perform site evaluations, installations, commissioning and service.
**Why you will love us**:
We are a team in the truest sense of the word. As a group, we are looking to make a positive impact in our world, and are excited to have others join us.
