Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Business Development Analyst monitors, researches and reports on current contracts/grants and potential contract/grant programs and funding proposals. The Business Development Analyst analyzes current contracts for compliance and sustainability, and collaborates with the team to write reports, grants and responses to RFPs while ensuring streamlined processes to gather, organize and report data.

**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**_ Program Funding & Contract Analysis_**
- Analyze program contracts and funding plans to identify and mitigate risks
- Research and present opportunities, solutions and recommendations to management
- Lead initiatives to meet the organization’s funding requirements
- Ensure contracts are compliant with regulatory and funder standards
- Identify compliance issues on both sides of the agreement
- Analyze and evaluate contract reporting processes and identify areas of improvement
- Report to funders, including financial reporting

**_ Data Evaluation & Reporting_**
- Data evaluation and analysis to identify and address measurement & reporting gaps
- Establish data integration and reporting methods to enhance business intelligence
- Identify opportunities to leverage systems functionality in order to modernize data collection and reporting processes
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and meet organizational key performance indicators and business metrics
- Establish automated business and financial reporting and measurement processes
- Meet with program managers to establish relevant operational metrics and reporting processes
- Analyze options, risks, cost benefits and support requirements of various proposed initiatives and projects
- Conduct business measurement and program sustainability reviews and recommend performance improvement solutions

**_ Grant Writing_**
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization.
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
- Submit proposals to management for approval.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.

**_ Bid Management_**
- Monitor BC Bid and other platforms to identify relevant proposal opportunities
- Analyze RFP requirements, contract terms, complexities, scope and risks as well as organizational impacts and present opportunities to management for approval
- Facilitate meetings with management and staff to coordinate proposal submissions and resolve issues concerned with proposals and program impacts.
- Ensure proposal timelines and submission requirements are met
- Prepare proposal and grant reports and present to the Chief Executive Officer, the Board of directors, and other leadership

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field
- Minimum of 3 years of contract, proposal or grant writing or financial management experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing business analysis, measurement and reporting processes
- Experience with change management processes and project management methodologies.
- A proven track-record of achievements in business reporting and analysis improvements

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in business measurement
- Ability to establish data reporting and analysis processes that lead to sound business insight
- Excellent research and analytical skills including the use of a variety of business analysis and financial reporting tools
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft compelling proposals and presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
