Bridges Community Living is a non-profit senior’s housing organization. We operate 3 lodges and 7 apartment buildings within the City of Red Deer and are currently recruiting for a Permanent Part-Time Tenant Support Worker.

**ROLE**:
The Tenant Support Worker works with residents to provide emotional support, develop skills and access resources to increase their capacity to be successful and satisfied in the living, working, learning and/or social environments of their choice. This role works with various internal teams and external community partners to resolve potential issues, coordinate opportunities, and facilitate changes that increase the chances of successful tenancies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary diploma in social work, human services or related disciplines
- 3 years’ experience and sensitivity regarding social issues such as poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions, domestic violence or experience in case management.
- Sound knowledge of AB seniors housing and social housing programs and their role in the social service system.
- Experience and knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act, Health Act, Alberta Housing Act
- Experience working with seniors and in the non-profit housing sector is an asset
- Emergency First Aid, WHMIS, mandatory criminal record check
- Proven computer skills and leadership skills
- FOIP Level I
- Valid class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract
- Must have own vehicle.
- Appropriate equivalencies may be considered

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Working with vulnerable residents and their support systems to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.
- Working with residents to promote a supportive and safe community environment at each building.
- Develop and facilitate access for residents to focus on their individual needs by coordinating resources that may be in conjunction with community agencies.
- Assist and provide residents with a variety of training and education in the areas of daily living skills, money management, self-care management and social development skills.
- Mediates disputes among residents with the goal of helping residents to learn problem-solving techniques and the ability resolve disputes independently.
- Establishes a positive rapport and working relationship with external agencies, community resources and internal multidisciplinary teams. Collaborates with community service providers to facilitate services to individual residents and locations.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
