Quality Control Technician

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ability to perform all test procedures as described in The Minute Maid Analytical Methods manual.
- Sampling of products for testing and conformance to specifications for ingredients, pre-checks and finished product from the line.
- Sample and inspect for conformance of packaging materials.
- Microbiological sampling, plating and data interpretation of wate, product, ingredients and processes.
- Sample collection and packaging for shipments.
- Ability to make calculations and recommendations for batch adjustments.
- Cleaning, routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of lab test equipment and procedures.
- Monitor process parameters and report issues to Supervisors and Managers.
- Preparation of analytical data in a complete, precise and professional manner.
- Preparation of standard solutions for wet chemistry methods.
- Maintain the lab in a clean state at all times.
- To follow up on problem areas and to assist to final resolution
- working with all QC technicians and Production associates in a team spirit.
- Set up new master formula into excel spreadsheet Base and Frozen Formula Adjustments
- Complete concentrate log weekly for production pulls
- Average sweeteners and OJ loads weekly for formulizing the following weeks production
- Work with Supply Planner in releasing formula to production and any changes that need to be made
- Able to do excel calculation sheet for every product each week
- Complete blend envelopes with appropriate worksheets and formula for production and lab daily
- Log into SAP and fill information in the Process Orders using t-code MD04
- Access all process orders (PrcOrd) for each batch scheduled and an (OrdRes)for finished goods
- Complete process orders by filling in number of KG of each ingredient indicated on excel spreadsheet
- Able to make formula adjustments when an alternate ingredient is to be used
- Release all process orders once they have been set up
- Able to adjust quantities in SAP and in each process order as needed
- Check shortage reports
- Use t-code YPSR2 to do bar code sheets for lab and production
- Sort process orders by number and amounts of each run
- Complete staging of ingredients in SAP using LP10
- Take completed formula down to lab daily
- Pick up previous days production files and taste samples from lab daily
- Record all frozen and base products into the Frozen/Base production log book in order that products were made with dates. Record brix and acid on base products in logbook
- Able to find quantity of frozen product produced in SAP using t-code YPSR2
- Able to find quantity of base product produced by referring to base fill logs
- Able to fill out hold logs when holds have occurred
- Update annual hold list
- Record the average test results from the product files into the Average Quality Results file in excel

**Qualifications**
- Must possess a graduation diploma from an accredited Community College specializing in a life science or laboratory science technician program or Bachelor of Science degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, food science of other science discipline.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment (work or school).
- Knowledge of analytical techniques, chemistry, microbiology, math and basic computer skills.
- Possess strong analytical, organizational and judgement skills.
- Must be able to pass certification process (upgrade to take effect upon certification).
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions, review manuals and complete required on line documentation.
- Must be able to lift heavy weights ( 20-50lbs).
- Must have a satisfactory work, safety and attendance record.
- Must be able to pass a Qualification Certification Process (QCP). Testing will involve verbal, written and hands-on operation of equipment and machinery
