Maintenance Automation Specialist

The Maintenance Automation Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair of automated and electronic systems to ensure that the physical plant and it's associated equipment operate safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Automation Specialist will also perform maintenance work on mechanical equipment and systems as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance of various automated systems that are critical to the operation of the building. These systems include but are not limited to, Building Automation System, Pneumatic Tube System, HVAC Control System, Security Systems, Pneumatic tube system, Medical gas and vacuum systems, Perform preventative maintenance duties in order to maintain payback savings from utilities as part of the Energy Management initiatives.
- Assist in the installation of automation system controllers as required.
- Perform electronic circuit maintenance functions on mechanical equipment and systems as required.
- Troubleshoot various automated systems.
- Coordinate external service with contracted Technicians, Service Companies and Suppliers.
- Responsible for applicable codes and proper documentation of the above.

QUALIFICATIONS
- University or Community College diploma or certification in electronics and/or equivalent experience.
- Certification in Program Logic Controllers and related automation would be an preferred asset.
- Work experience in a Hospital or Clinical setting is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the field of electronics or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance/mechanical field.
- Sound knowledge of related Canadian Standards Association codes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle complex situations.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize work requests appropriately.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a safe and courteous manner.
- Must have an excellent attendance record.
