**SUMMARY**:
The Core Analysis Laboratory Supervisor oversees the general running of the Core Analysis Department. Includes supervision of daily lab operations, ensuring strict compliance with Core Lab’s safety, quality, and ethical standards. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, this role manages staff training, equipment needs, and QA/QC implementation to maintain high analytical accuracy and minimize non-conformities.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Must comply with Safety Responsibilities explained in the Safety Responsibility Policy (CA-ADMR-S24).
- Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management Systems requirements.
- Follow and enforce Core Lab’s safety and quality protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
- Enforce Core Lab’s Safety and Quality Policy and ensure timely and accurate reporting of non-conformance.
- Acknowledge all non-conformances, assume responsibility and Act to rectify the situation and where possible implement procedural changes to minimize or eliminate the chances of reoccurrence.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities.
- Operate in a professional manner, adhering to Core Lab’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics to ensure accurate and ethical reporting of data.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality. Responsible for scheduling/prioritizing work and implementing overtime to ensure that turnaround time and deadlines of projects are completed in an accurate and timely manner, making sure that client requirements are met or exceeded.
- Work with coordinators to prioritize work and schedule overtime.
- Respond to on-call situations after working hours.
- Responsible for the training needs in the department, including:

- Ensuring that education, training, skills, and experience requirements are identified for all positions.
- Ensuring that any training required for a position will be provided.
- Ensuring that appropriate instructors for on-the-job training are assigned.
- Ensuring that employees are aware of the effect their work has on the achievement of quality within the company.
- Maintaining training records as evidence of competence. Provide specific training to the coordinators in the job duties of a supervisor.
- Must interact with Project Managers to establish objectives, provide technical information, recommend additional testing, resolve problems, relate the status of projects and promote future business.
- Remain proficient and knowledgeable of proper analysis as specified by the supervisor and knowledgeable of the proper operation, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Responsible for determining equipment and laboratory needs and provide for acquisition.
- Must be knowledgeable with QA/QC Procedures, General Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures and is responsible for ensuring their implementation in the lab.
- Ensure the quality process and calibration program are effectively maintained within the group.
- Be aware of Quality Assurance in all daily work activities with the clients and report any problem or non-conformance to your QA & Safety Department and/or Manager.
- Provide direct supervision on special jobs to ensure that proper procedures and methodology are followed.
- Review final data and calculations to ensure accurate analytical reports before handing off to project management team.
- Responsible for leading safety meetings as per policy CA-ADMR-S18.
- Responsible for conducting documented formal and informal inspections as per policy CA-ADMR-S21.
- Responsible for evaluating the progress of MOC projects.
- Monitor expenses and time sheets.
- Authorized for purchasing as per procedure CA-ADMP-A01.
- Perform other required duties to provide generation of accurate and timely analysis.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post secondary diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 10+ years relative experience working in a core analysis laboratory
