The team of technical experts, grouped within Pomerleau's Technical Office, is a multidisciplinary group created to address the company's specific technical expertise needs in both design-build and conventional projects. The Director of Technical Expertise is himself an expert in his field and manages this diverse team. He ensures that the relevant expertise is used at the right time and on demand to develop optimized concepts for various structures, in collaboration with professionals engaged in the project and Pomerleau's design management team. His involvement also helps minimize and better control project risks. The Director and his team may also be consulted by construction teams in cases of specific technical challenges on-site. Finally, the Director oversees the development and strengthening of the team's expertise, notably through recruitment and continuous training of team members.

**What You Will Do**
- Manages a team of technical experts across various disciplines and specialties identified as essential for the company’s design-build and conventional projects, including building construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure.
- Prepares, in the context of the company’s growth, a development plan for the team based on identified needs.
Oversees the recruitment of resources according to required disciplines and specialties, as well as geographic location based on project needs.
- Develops, at the beginning of proposals and in collaboration with the project’s technical team, a plan for the involvement of required resources, whether internal or external.
- Works alongside relevant team members or selected external specialists during the development of project concepts, collaborating with engaged consultants to create compliant and efficient solutions.
- Participates, along with relevant team members and as required by the project, in design reviews at different stages during project implementation.
- Establishes strong connections with design management teams in projects to ensure risk minimization for the company.
- Serves as the technical reference in their field of expertise and responds to technical expertise requests during project execution.
- Ensures the maintenance and enhancement of the team’s expertise through training and other knowledge-sharing activities.
- Is part of the Technical Directorate's management committee, alongside managers responsible for design management, temporary works, methods, and planning.

**This role could be for you if you have**
- Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Have a minimum of 20 years of professional experience in design within a specific area of expertise related to building and/or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrate strong ability to manage and coordinate various types of design expertise required for building and/or infrastructure projects in Quebec and across Canada.
- Have experience in alternative project delivery methods, such as the design-build model.
- Experience on both the design side (professional services firms) and the construction side (general or specialized contractors) would be considered an asset.
- Exhibit leadership, initiative, innovation, and rigor.
- Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills, sound judgment, and strong communication abilities.
- Be capable of planning, prioritizing, and organizing assignments for specialized employees under their responsibility.
- Be recognized as a mobilizer and solution-oriented leader.
