EG Industries was founded in 1981 as a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry. We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our afternoon or night shift.
Position Summary
Responsible to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery, consisting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment.
Essential
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and injection mold machines.
- Capable of following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Read diagrams and drawings to determine procedures
- Design, plan, evaluate and test equipment / systems to Canadian Electrical Code and ESA standards
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect abnormalities
- Complete appropriate documentation according to company procedures
- Troubleshoot and diagnose circuit, component, and equipment problems
- Maintain emergency lighting systems, sensors, and electronics
- Provide pricing and part numbers for electrical equipment purchases
- Program and troubleshoot PLC systems
- Assist with inventory of maintenance related parts
- Regular and Predictable Attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Required Competencies, Skills and Experience
- Previous work experience in plastic injection-molding environment
- Working knowledge and understanding of robotic technology
- Working knowledge and understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC and CNC technology
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment,
- Ability to interface and communicate with line operators to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- Must be highly safety conscious, self-motivated and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude”
- Confident working with computers.
Education and Job Experience Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance
- Certification in a related field
- Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage and safety procedures
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- The position requires the ability to work in non-climate controlled plant areas and climate controlled office areas.
- This position is exposed to noisy plant areas, and forklift traffic.
- This position requires the ability to walk on concrete floors, lift up to 30 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
