Sorrentino's Cucina + Bar is a well-known Italian restaurant group, recognized for its diverse culinary offerings, private event planning, and a long-standing reputation for quality. Our Downtown location is a great place for guests to enjoy fine-dining Italian cuisine and relax with friends and family. We are constantly seeking ambitious individuals who want to grow with our company as we continue to expand.

Our Downtown location is just a quick four-minute stroll from the 102 St LRT station and only two minutes from the Churchill Connector. We are also located across the street from the Edmonton Public Library

**Description**

Our Servers are responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing prompt, courteous, and elevated service. This role involves taking orders, delivering food and beverages, ensuring a clean dining environment, and addressing customer needs with a professional and friendly attitude. Our Servers play a key role in creating a positive impression of the Sorrentino’s Restaurant Group and contributing to a high standard of guest satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and ensure timely service.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the restaurant's menu, including specials and promotions.
- Provide recommendations to guests, including pairing food with beverages.
- Ensure all menu changes, special requests and allergies are communicated effectively to the kitchen.
- Accurately input orders into the POS system and manage transactions.
- Follow the standardized cycle of service to ensure smooth operations during peak times.
- Assist in pre-shift preparation and post-shift cleanup to ensure the restaurant is always ready for guests.
- Engage in suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase guest satisfaction and sales.
- Handle payments accurately, processing cash and credit card transactions.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes and operational standards.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a fine-dining restaurant or hospitality environment (2-3 years preferred).
- Professional in appearance and demeanour for a fine-dining restaurant.
- ProServe Certification required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and optimal memorization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling.
- Fluent in English
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
- Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
- A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and providing excellent customer service.
