Occupational Therapy Assistant

**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in carrying out assessments, treatment plans, and interventions
- Implement rehabilitation plans and techniques with clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes
- Communicate with clients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress
- Attend team meetings and provide input regarding client progress
- Provide support to clients with activities of daily living
- Conduct home visits and provide community-based rehabilitation sessions
- Ensure that clients' rehabilitation plans are being implemented safely and effectively
- Assist with the design and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients based on their unique needs and goals
- Observe and report changes in clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities
- Participate in client progress meetings with the Occupational Therapist and other members of the healthcare team
- Help clients with exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities
- Educate clients and their families on rehabilitation techniques and exercises they can do at home
- Ensure that all therapy equipment is clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional standards
**Requirements**:
- Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of on-site education, training, and experience
- Fluency in both English and French is mandatory, with Arabic considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and treatment plans
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Prior experience in rehabilitation services or related healthcare field is preferred
